We understand some dogs can be a little nervous when being groomed and that is why we make sure to handle each and every dog with care and affection throughout their session.

Hand Stripping - Starting from £45
Hand stripping is a specialist service and can only be achieved on certain breeds, mainly terriers and some gundogs.
The hand stripping process involves removing the wirey top layer of coat to leave the soft undercoat
As this is such a specialised process and needs to be carried out by trained professionals it is slightly more expensive.
This service includes everything in the full groom package.

Extra Care Fee
We recommend you have your dog regularly treated to ensure their coats do not become matted. Matted fur can cause many terrible skin conditions, including:
• Severe Itching
• Discolouration & Staining of Fur
• Hot Spots & Sores
• Skin Rash Flea infestations
• Fungal and bacterial Infections
• Yeast Infections
• Urine and Faeces Scalding
• Moist Eczema
• Eye & Ear Infections
• Mites and Lice Maggot Infestations
In the event of matting, please be aware that there may be an additional Extra Care Fee of £10 for every extra 30 minutes spent dematting. This allows me the time to work through a dog’s coat, reducing discomfort during the de-matting process. In more severe cases of matting we will recommend that a dog’s coat be completely trimmed to avoid any unnecessary pain or trauma.
Of course, regular grooming will prevent any issues. So whether you bring your furry friend along to Star Paws Dog Grooming or do it yourself at home, be sure to take the time to keep on top of their fur before it becomes a problem.
