Good Afternoon and Hello December! Thank you so much to everyone that entered this competition on Facebook or Instagram. The entries ranged widely from £12.75 all the way up to £376.00! As so many entries were a long way off the actual price paid, I would love to take this opportunity to offer some insight into the world of being a small business owner. I pride myself on offering one to one grooming, using the best available equipment and working to the highest possible standards. As I purchase premium tools, maintenance is important to preserve their condition. My blades and scissors are sharpened every 6 months and just to sharpen the equipment that is shown in the picture would cost £77.00- that is without any of my many other blades and scissors! My clippers are also routinely serviced at £30.00 a time. Matted fur really takes a toll on my blades and scissors as well as taking the extra time to remedy, and this is why you will find that most groomers will have an extra cost for dealing with a matted coat. Due to rising costs, I am in the process of contacting all of my lovely customers individually to advise of a small price increase, this enables me to continue providing the premium quality, one to one service that your furry friends enjoy whilst still being one of the most affordable groomers in town. Molly is a 4 year old shih tzu who I have been seeing for around a year. She is a slightly nervous girl and likes to make sure her lovely owner feels bad about leaving her with me! She gets a nice fluffy cut, she had some super hairy ears so we gave them a good pluck which she was an absolute angel for. A hand strip is just pulling the hair naturally which promotes the natural coat, its not painful at all for Bambam. Here we have a family of cocker spaniels and first up is 6 month old Dilly in for her first big cut- what a transformation she had! She was an absolute diamond for her groom and made me chuckle by taking the opportunity for a cuddle while I was trying to manoeuvre her to do her back end. She is absolutely beautiful! We also have big sister Darcy who is 2 years old comes in for a tidy up of her fluffy bits, nails and her hairy tootsies, her owners like her natural coat so we embrace this. You can sense that Darcy is definitely a working cocker spaniel by nature as she is alert and ready at all times and very much another beautiful girly! Missing from todays groom was Mabel, unfortunately after suffering from illness, Mabel gained her angel wings in September. She was 12 years old and such a lovely little girl. She would come in with beany breath as she loved having beans for breakfast! Maggie is a Chorkie which is a chihuahua x yorkie. She has been coming to me since she was a puppy. Her owner likes Maggie more on the fluffy side and prefers a longer face. Rusty is a 9 year old collie and we saw his brother Ronnie yesterday. Rusty hasn’t had the health issues that Ronnie has had so mobility and being able to stand throughout the groom isn’t a problem for Rusty.
